Like mother, like daughter.
I like to tease Mark that our Lauren came to be when he cloned himself in his lab. Her personality is so much like his, but when it comes to her interests, she's all mine. Yesterday, she asked me if she could take photos and learn how to "erase stuff" on the computer. So I outfitted her with my old D50 and a 50mm lens and let her have at it. She spent the whole day shooting whatever interested her (Mainly Cookie, Coconut and Marcus). Then, we sat down together at the computer while she culled her shots. Then I taught her how to post process in Aperture and use the clone tool in Photoshop.
I thought that would be good enough, but she wanted to post her photos online so people could give her comments. So I set up another Flickr account where we could showcase her work. Since she's still a little too young to participate in the social networking aspect of the site, Mark and I have to sit in the next room and write comments on her photos.
You can see Lauren's growing portfolio here.

52 Weeks of Cookie: Week 7.
This week, I celebrated my 4 month birthday - yay! There's so much to learn. For example, this week I learned that I really like this stuff called yogurt. My New Ma let me try it, and I couldn't get my licks in fast enough!
Love,
Cookie

New Ma here - sorry there hasn't been any other blogging other than our weekly Cookie update. There really hasn't been all that much going on besides work, school, basketball and Girl Scouts. I'm trying to do all 365 challenges for this year, but I haven't been posting the photos here on blog (They are on Flickr of course). Next week, I am planning to start Don Giannatti's Project 52. Each week he gives out real world commercial photographer assignments. So I was thinking of tracking my progress here. We'll see how that goes!

52 Weeks of Cookie - Week 6
I have big news this week! My New Ma was cleaning up around my water dish when she found an odd shaped crumb. At first she thought it was a little piece of popcorn (Yum! Popcorn!), but then she got real excited. Then I got real excited too! She said that I lost my first tooth and that if I put it under my doggie bed, the Tooth Fairy will come and bring me something nice. I sure hope she brings me some popcorn!
Love,
Cookie

52 Weeks of Cookie - Week 4
I just love Big Brother!
My New Ma says that we remind her of these guys:
Big Brother is the coolest! You should see his bed. It is SO BIG! I try to lay on it every chance that I get. I makes me so excited! Although sometimes this wet spot appears on it out of nowhere. I don't know how it gets there, but The Big Guy sure gets sore when it happens.
Love,
Cookie.
New Ma here - Marcus is a very good big brother to Cookie. He is very gentle and patient with her, and lets her jump and nibble all over him. In fact, when I was taking photos of them today after long round of playing, Marcus started licking her face. He is such a big softy.
