Bye Sammy. You were with us for 7 years. How old were you? We'll never know....maybe 15 or more. Since you came to live with us, we got married, had a daughter, rented a house, bought and sold a house, and bought another.
I'll always remember all your energy...how you ran around the couch with your toys for hours, and how you would make funny noises shaking your favorite toys. I'll remember your new hair cut and bandana when we first moved in, and the funny grumbly noises you would make every time you ran down the stairs. I'll remember your feisty personality... I still see Grandma Ross trying to get you in the car, and you giving her the business...and her looking up at the house hoping someone was coming out to help!
It's sad when someone so spirited becomes old and frail, but you were a good dog.
Sammy was blessed to find two people that took her in with no questions asked and loved and gave her a home when she had none. Grandma Ross would say Sammy is up in doggie heaven and would have been there much sooner if not for Mark and Melissa Ross.
Mark, What a wonderful tribute! You should post this on the mainpage with some of your favorite photo's of Sammie. I know she is pleased as punch to be running and playing once again. You two made fine parents to Sammie, and gave her a life worth remembering. She will surely be at the gate to greet you both, when that time comes. (Many, many moons from now)
The purpose of this blog is the same as most blogs: to make our ordinary life seem much more exciting than it actually is.
Please feel free to leave comments. We love attention!
