Children are full of surprises.
Tonight, Mark and I attended our first parent/teacher conference. Although we weren't nervous about it, we were curious to know how someone outside of our friends and family perceived our child.
The teacher was running late, so as we were waiting, we enjoyed looking the children's artwork displayed in the hallway.
We then noticed that out of the 10 or so kids in her classroom, Lauren was the only one to put the puzzle pieces together on her dinosaur. MY GOD, WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?!
Well, according to the teacher it didn't mean anything other than she's a little bit of a perfectionist (Shocking.). Actually, there were few shocks during our meeting. We learned that Lauren is very sweet (check), doesn't eat much (check), and loves to craft (double check). What we were surprised to learn was that she likes to dance with the boys in the class to the Steeler fight song and that she really likes to ride the tricycles. And here we thought we really knew our child.
Other than that, she is on track for kindergarten admittance next fall. Hooray!
